When Co-Parenting Apps Aren’t Enough
Coaching for Parents in High-Conflict
Does co-parenting feel harder than it should?
You may be dealing with:
Messages that quickly become hostile or accusatory
Repeated disagreements about schedules, expenses, school, or medical decisions
Difficulty getting clear answers or making joint decisions
Pressure to defend yourself or respond to every accusation
Children getting caught in the middle of adult conflict
An ongoing court case that makes every interaction feel higher stakes
You may not be able to change how your co-parent behaves. But you can change how you respond to difficult situations and how you approach communication and decision-making.
Handle difficult co-parenting situations more effectively
Co-parenting coaching gives you practical strategies you can use in the situations you're dealing with right now.
Co-parenting coaching gives you concrete strategies you can use in the situations you're dealing with right now.
We can work on how to:
Communicate clearly without escalating conflict
Write messages that are brief, focused, and more likely to move a problem toward resolution.
Know when and how to respond
Learn to distinguish issues that require action from communication that is likely to pull you into another argument.
Make better proposals and decisions
Develop more effective ways to address schedules, expenses, school, healthcare, activities, and other parenting decisions.
Set and maintain appropriate boundaries
Clarify what is within your control and respond more effectively when boundaries are challenged.
Keep your children out of the conflict
Reduce the likelihood that your children become messengers, referees, or participants in disagreements between parents.
Co-parenting coaching can be done individually or together with your co-parent. If you participate together, we can work directly on communication, decision-making, and resolving recurring areas of conflict. If you come on your own, we can focus on the strategies and responses that are within your control.
About your coach
I've worked with individuals, couples, and families for more than 25 years and specialize in co-parenting and high-conflict family situations.
I serve as a court-appointed Parenting Coordinator in North Carolina and Special Master in Utah, and I've completed extensive training through the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC) in parenting coordination, advanced issues in high-conflict family cases, and family dispute resolution.
My work is practical and focused on helping parents communicate more effectively, make better decisions, and reduce unnecessary conflict.
Co-parenting coaching vs. therapy: what you should know
Co-parenting coaching is not therapy and does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions. It is a skill-building, goal-oriented service focused on helping parents communicate more effectively, manage conflict, make decisions, and navigate difficult co-parenting situations.
Both coaching and therapy can involve one parent individually or both parents together. The difference is that therapy is a healthcare service and may include the assessment and treatment of mental health concerns. Coaching is a non-medical service focused on practical skills and problem-solving.
I offer co-parenting therapy to clients in North Carolina and Utah. Co-parenting coaching is available to parents anywhere in the world via secure video.
